Gianna DeFelice, MSW
Gianna DeFelice (she/they) earned her Master of Social Work degree at Smith College School for Social Work and her Bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Community Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. They are experienced working with adults, children and adolescents in various therapeutic settings, including schools, outpatient mental health clinics, and outdoor/nature environments.
Gianna primarily works from a psychodynamic perspective, with play-therapy and art therapy as foundations of her child work. Gianna strives to facilitate a warm, socially just practice and she believes that relational work is central to healing on both micro and macro levels. They also regard creative expression and story-telling to be deeply transformative with both children and adults. Their areas of clinical focus include grief and loss, attachment disruptions, trauma, gender exploration, and sexuality. Gianna is available to see children, adolescents and adults
